Description
We are looking for a talented student with a passion for innovation and willing to learn new skills on the job while supporting our platform for making criminal record checks, credit reports, and other identity verifications processes simple and affordable for everyone. The Software Development Intern role has been created to focus on helping to develop and work with entrepreneurially minded students that have a lot of grit and are not afraid of a challenge. The successful candidate will work alongside our development team to develop, launch, and improve the Instant Record Check platform. PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote position.
Requirements
Successful candidates will have experience in the following technologies:
- Web development frontend work using HTML and CSS.
- JavaScript programming language.
- ReactJS or a similar web framework.
Experience with the following technologies will be considered an asset:
- Bootstrap library.
- CSS Preprocessors like SASS/SCSS.
- Advanced JavaScript features (modern JavaScript ES6+).
- Functional programming concepts in modern JavaScript.
- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar software for doing graphic design work and illustrations.
Qualifications
- Current student of a Canadian post-secondary accredited school in Business, Economics, Communications or related field
- Previous experience in product development for a technology business is an asset
- Must hold Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or refugee status
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies, applications, and processes
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment
- Previous startup work experience is an asset
